GHL Temp Fence goes full steam ahead keeping littlies safe at Thomas the Tank Engine weekend

Glenbrook Vintage Railway, 50 minutes’ drive south of Auckland, opened their gates to the “Thomas The Tank Engine” Weekend. Thousands of young enthusiasts enjoyed train rides and took part in many Thomas-themed activities, including a 12km steam and diesel return train ride to Fernleigh.

All the Thomas the Tank Engine’s friends were there – Rusty and Sir Topham Hat, Bulgy the Bus took passengers on trips around the beautiful countryside, and the Fat Controller oversaw the two trains. Interactive Model Train sets and Face Painting ensured the little ones were kept busy all day.

What does it take to protect thousands of young children when Thomas the Tank Engine comes to town?

Over 600 km’s of crowd control barriers were installed to secure unsafe areas along the train station, train tracks and the water tower pump.

The barriers were also used to streamline queues around the major attractions to keep lines moving efficiently for a successful day out for families.

Safety and crowd control barriers

Where safety comes first, GHL crowd control barriers are the safest barrier on the temporary fence market. Made of stainless steel, each panel is hot dipped in a galvanized bath after manufacturing and welding for long lasting durability.

Each barrier has an interlocking hoop and clip specifically designed so an individual panel cannot be lifted out easily, for crowd control and stability. The crowd control barriers come with detachable flat feet to prevent tripping and make transport and installation faster.
